12 Hour Charity Stream – Thank You!

We did it!

Our 12 Hour Charity Stream of Awesomesauce(tm) successfully concluded with us earning over $500 for Toys for Tots. We are so excited to have been able to participate in earning some cash for this incredible charity.

The credit for this definitely goes to Ashley and Jacob for putting in the time and effort to make this stream a success. Jacob dreamed up the idea of a 12 hour stream and was a huge driver in making sure that we did it. Ashley exercised her incredible network of fantastic game developers to see if we could get them to participate in the stream and hang out for a while. Big Fish Games, the developers of Dungeon Boss, even chipped in a TON of freebies so we could do some giveaways and drive traffic to the stream. Stephen put together an alert system in order for people to get a giant shout out when they donated to Toys for Tots. Drest, a frequent viewer and participant in our WoW streams, put together an excellent donation meter that we could use all the way through the stream.

At the end of the day, everything turned out better than we expected. We thought that $500 was incredibly lofty for a few nerds who just want to play games on the internet. We honestly thought that we were mad for even trying it. We’re a little bit crazy, but it turns out that crazy actually wins every now and then.

Thank you guys so much for all of your support throughout our marathon stream, and for sending your hard earned dollars to benefit kids in need. You made the difference, and you proved to us that it was possible to do some good from just playing games and hanging out. Special thanks to Big Fish Games and Arcanity Inc, the makers of Tanzia, for being a part of the stream as well. They sincerely wanted to help and it was definitely felt by us and those who tuned in.

If you missed the stream you can still donate! Visit our donation page and just toss your cash to Toys for Tots, and if you want to relive the whole thing, check out our YouTube channel

Toys For Tots Charity Stream!

Greetings LoDers!

To celebrate the Winter Solstice, Christmas, and the amazing things that Toys for Tots does, 2Dorks and our fantastic crew will be hosting an all night fundraiser where 100% of the proceeds go DIRECTLY to Toys for Tots!

According to the internet, which we know is never wrong, the Winter Solstice (Wednesday Dec. 21st) marks the shortest day of the year — meaning that the sun will be shining directly over the Tropic of Capricorn (it’s most southern point). This also starts the beginning of Winter and, thankfully, commences the return of longer days. Great news for everyone save Mole People.

The What:
Tune in to https://www.twitch.tv/2dorkstv at 7pm EST for the kick off of our Solstice Stream! We will be playing Dungeon Boss, World of Warcraft, Doom, Diablo, Tanzia, and more with occasional news updates from the Horseshoes and Hand Grenades crew and perhaps a few visits from our favorite redneck cousin, Tater. The plan is to raise 500$ for the Toys for Tots Charity.

The Why:
It is absurdly easy to miss those around us that have less, especially during the holidays. Unfortunately, children suffer the most in families that are broken, struggling, or full of holes due to missing loved ones. Toys for Tots takes the very simple idea of gift giving and turns it into magic for those families. We take for granted the sheer volume of stuff we will receive in December, but Toys for Tots allows us to share generously with children and families that otherwise go without. Let’s help make this Season phenomenal!

The How:
Donations will be sent via our “Donate Here” button DIRECTLY to Toys for Tots. 2dorks will NOT act as a middle man. These donations WILL be tax deductible because they will be going directly to the charity. If you TIP the 2Dorks team directly, it goes straight to us and does not act as a donation (you can, of course, still do this, but we prefer you send all your fat loots to the charity!)

Join us for a night of hyper energy, sleep deprivation, and special guests!

H&H Moving To New Time!

Howdy, party people!

We here at the Orbiting HQ realize that some of you have had a severe lack of H&H in your lives over the past few weeks. Despite our impressive backlog of 350+ episodes, you felt the need for new content. Well, folks, we just didn’t deliver as you probably expected. But that’s all about to change.

H&H is moving to a new time! This new time slot will make it easier for us to bring you content every week without so many major gaps in episodes. We’ll now be coming to you live on Thursday around 8pm EST! I say “around 8pm” because I have a baby. That baby sometimes goes down before 8, and sometimes shortly after. Keep an eye on Twitter and follow us on Twitch to be sure you get notified when we go live.

We’re as committed to this show now as when we first launched it. We want to bring you hilarious content just like we always have, and we’re going to continue doing that. There’s always the possibility that this could move again, but for now, we want to make our stream your Thursday night comedy show.

As always, you can grab our podcast from the usual places if you happen to miss an episode!

We love you guys!!!

2Dorks Blog

It’s time for 2Dorks to have a one stop shop for stuff related to everything we’re doing. You guys deserve a central depot for all the things we’re up to, so I figured this was as good a place as any. You’ll find updates on stream times, specific info on ideas we have, and any other fun dorky things. There’s also a forum. We’re playing around with bbPress for that. Not sure I love it, but it’s something worth trying. If we’re not super into it, then we can always do something different.

NEWS! The Adventures of Stephen is back up and running. Every Tuesday night we’ll have a stream of me trying to work my way through all sorts of awesome adventure games. Hope you guys can join! I’m scheduled for Tuesday nights around 8pm. That’s a little flexible since I have to wait for my baby to fall asleep. Yay, parenting!

Catch you guys later!
